Jurgen Klopp insists Liverpool "cannot do much more" to prove to Mo Salah that he should remain at Anfield.

The Egyptian is due to enter the final 12 months of his deal in the summer as talks over an extension continue.

Salah has been a huge success on Merseyside and is eyeing his third Golden Boot in five seasons this term.

However the uncertainty over his future continues to hang over the club, who face the prospect of losing their prized asset.

Since arriving from Roma in 2017 Salah has helped Liverpool win the Premier League and the Champions League as the club continue to invest in the playing group.

Luis Diaz is the latest big name to arrive and will help the Reds as they eye a unique quadruple this season with Klopp underlining the clear direction the club is trying to go in.

He said: "Mo expects this club to be ambitious. We cannot do much more. It is Mo's decision. It is all fine from my point of view.

"Nothing happened further, no signing or rejection. We just have to wait, there's no rush."

A new deal for Salah will no doubt force the club to rip up their wage structure, which may be behind the drawn out process.

The 29-year-old insisted recently that, whilst he wants a deal that reflects his importance at Anfield, he is not making ludicrous demands.
