Aberdeen manager Jim Goodwin has said "it is obvious" that his club would be linked with Wolves midfielder Connor Ronan.
Goodwin has insisted it is "just speculation" at this stage, though recognises why. Ronan, 24, is currently in the middle of a successful loan spell at fellow Scottish club St Mirren.
Ronan was managed by Goodwin at St Mirren until the Scottish manager left to take the reins at Aberdeen last month. The pair know each other well and Goodwin believes the Wolves man is ready to make the step up.
“It is obvious the likes of Jak Alnwick and Connor Ronan would flash up. I have worked closely with them at my previous club," Goodwin told the Daily Record.
“I brought both of them to St Mirren. Jak has been recognised as one of the top goalkeepers in the league since he went to St Mirren.
“He is in the top two or three in terms of saves made, again, similar to last season. Connor Ronan scored eight goals from midfield and scored another special one against Hearts the other week.
"These are players who I have very good working relationships with. I am in no doubt they could make the step up from St Mirren to Aberdeen but it is just speculation at the moment.”
