Isthmian South East weekend round-up includes wins for Faversham Town, Deal Town and Herne Bay
Two-goal striker Eniye Amgbaduba inspired Faversham to a hard-fought Isthmian South East success at Hastings United on Saturday.
Summer signing Amgbaduba, formerly of Dover, put Tommy Warrilow’s early high-fliers into a 12th-minute lead before he moved to five goals for the campaign with a second after the restart.
Hastings pulled one back with seven minutes to go to set up a grandstand finish but Town held on as it ended 2-1 at The Pilot Field in front of an 826-strong crowd.
Deal saw off Sevenoaks 2-0 at home.
A first-half penalty by Ashley Miller, the winger’s third goal in two games, put Steve King’s side into a half-time advantage before substitute Tom Chapman put the result beyond doubt inside the 78th minute.
Margate suffered a 1-0 loss against Isthmian South East frontrunners AFC Croydon Athletic at Hartsdown Park.
Top scorer Rolando Onu’s first-half goal was cancelled out in the second half as Sheppey were held to a 1-1 stalemate at Hassocks.
For the second weekend running, all the goals came in the first half as Herne Bay beat hosts Crowborough 3-1 to move into the Isthmian South East play-off positions.
Midfielder Scott Heard put Liam Friend’s men in charge and, although the hosts instantly replied, goals from Zuriel Otseh-Taiwo and 10-goal top scorer Kamani McFarlane ensured Bay got another win.
