Isthmian League round-up: Ben Greenhalgh scores in Dartford win, defeats for Ramsgate and Chatham, Sittingbourne score stoppage-time winner

New Dartford player-boss Ben Greenhalgh got off to a winning start in their Isthmian Premier opener on Saturday.

The Darts came from two goals down to win 3-2 at Three Bridges, with Greenhalgh among the scorers.

Three Bridges keeper Harry White was fortunate to escape an early red card before the hosts went into a 2-0 lead with two penalties from Charlie Bennett.

However, Greenhalgh’s left-foot finish reduced the deficit before the break and Joe Tennent levelled just past the hour.

Within two minutes, Max Fiddes marked his Dartford debut with a close-range finish which proved to be the winner as keeper Ryan Sandford and his defence resisted late pressure from the hosts.

Former Dartford boss Ady Pennock tasted defeat in his first game in charge of Ramsgate as they went down 2-1 at home to newly-promoted Leatherhead.

Kofi Anokye-Boadi and Harry Murphy put the visitors into a two-goal lead before debutant Callum Jones replied in first-half stoppage time.

Welling left it late before seeing off Whitehawk 2-0 at Park View Road.

Chris Arthur’s long-range effort broke the deadlock with nine minutes left before substitute Nahum Melvin-Lambert wrapped up the points in the last minute.

Chatham had Harry Lodovica sent off in their 3-1 defeat at St Albans, who led 2-0 at the break through Kieran Petrie and Michael Faulkner.

James Wild replied for the Chats early in the second half but Jake Gray immediately restored the hosts’ two-goal lead before the visitors were reduced to 10 men.

Ade Yusuff’s second-half equaliser ensured Cray Wanderers a share of the spoils at Wingate & Finchley, who led early on through Ashley Nzala.

The hosts played the final hour with 10 men after Tobi Tinubu collected a red card.
