How Man City should line up vs Everton in Premier League

Pep Guardiola could make changes to his Manchester City side when they travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton on Saturday teatime.

City were beaten by Tottenham last time out, allowing Liverpool to take advantage of their game in hand in the week to move to within three points of the Blues at the top of the Premier League. With Liverpool in Carabao Cup final action tomorrow, City's clash at Everton gives an opportunity to re-establish a six-point lead and get back on track.

Guardiola could welcome back both Jack Grealish and Gabriel Jesus after the pair returned to training on Thursday following spells on the sidelines. Kyle Walker missed a day of training earlier in the week, while Zack Steffen and Cole Palmer remain out.

One selection call that could be particularly interesting will be who plays in central defence, with John Stones dropped against Spurs but Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte having poor games.

The return of Jack Grealish and Gabriel Jesus makes life more interesting in terms of second-guessing Pep Guardiola's team selection.

But the FA Cup tie at Peterborough next Tuesday looks like the best bet for re-introducing those two, especially with no need for panic after the Spurs defeat.

Maybe a shake-up in defence would not go amiss, with John Stones coming back in against his old club, and as a reminder that Ruben Dias has no right to a place after his poor display last week.

Other than that, Rodri should get a shot at redemption, while Riyad Mahrez should return to the starting line-up.
