It's finally arrived - the opening day of the new League One season!
After weeks of pre-season action and preparation, the competitive action starts today. For Bolton Wanderers, it is the start of the their second season back in the third tier of English football.
Wanderers finished last season in the top 10, a good achievement for a newly promoted side. This campaign, Wanderers are seeking to progress even further and challenge in earnest for a place in the top six.

The Whites begin the campaign this afternoon and are on the road against Ipswich Town. It pits two of the big names in the division against one another on the opening day of the campaign.
Wanderers have good memories of this fixture from last year. They won 5-2 at Portman Road as Dapo Afolayan grabbed a brace and it was one of their highlights of the campaign.
The encounter this afternoon will prove to be a challenging fixture for both sides and one which, though will of course on its own not decide anything in terms of the season, will be an early marker for where each team sits if they can pick up three points. Wanderers did the double over Ipswich last campaign and will be aiming to do the same this season.
