Inverness Caley Thistle v Hamilton: Accies boss says 'we are playing for our futures' as side bid to climb table

Hamilton boss John Rankin says everyone at the club is playing for their futures as they seek to haul themselves out of the relegation mire in the Scottish Championship.

Accies travel to Inverness today for the first clash of a double-header this week, with a clash at New Douglas Park on Tuesday their game in hand over Arbroath at the bottom of the table.

Rankin's men trail their nearest rivals by three points but Rankin isn't placing any greater importance on the upcoming double-header, as his side seek to climb away from the automatic relegation spot.

He said: "It's a big game but every game is a big game between now and the end of the season.

"Every game is worth something to us.

"We are not mid-table with nothing to play for - we've got everything to play for.

"We've got our futures to play for and we are looking forward to the challenge.

"It's not ideal playing teams back-to-back because you end up getting sick of each other.

"We've already played Inverness twice this season, albeit one of them ended up not being against their first team [in the SPFL Trust Trophy].

"We will be looking to Inverness on Saturday and then we'll think about Tuesday after that. We can't have the players getting ahead of themselves.

"Last week was a bit hectic with the quick turnaround in games [a SPFL Trust trophy clash with Queen of the South, followed by a Scottish Cup tie with Hearts] and we were trying to get through the week unscathed.

"We have managed that and nobody is really carrying anything now. There's no fresh injuries at the moment."
