Huddersfield Town are set to go into this weekend’s Championship play-off final with Nottingham Forest as huge outsiders. The Terriers are priced as high as 5/2 with some bookmakers to secure their return to the Premier League inside 90 minutes.

Town have defied many to get to where they are this season, with many tipping for them for another season of struggles after last year’s 20th place finish. But Carlos Corberan’s side entered the play-off campaign having finished third in the table, ahead of Sunday’s opponents Forest, who finished two points further back.

Huddersfield haven’t been loved by the market or the punters for most of the year if I’m honest, you then have the complete opposite with Forest who even after the bad start under Chris Hughton were never going off unfancied.

There are plenty of factors to consider when pricing up the matches and most of this is data driven. Huddersfield’s underlying data has been good this year however not quite good enough to match Nottingham Forest who have performed as well as Fulham for a sustained period during the second half of the campaign.
