Insane Man United stat: Katie Zelem scores three consecutive goals straight from corners

Manchester United’s Katie Zelem captured the spotlight on Saturday after scoring two insane goals straight from the corner spot.

The Reds captain replicated the almost identical goal she scored last week in the FA Cup against Manchester City, marking her third goal from a corner in two consecutive matches.

Zelem’s brace contributed to Man United’s 4-0 win over Leicester City in the Women’s Super League to see them move up to third in the table.

First half goals from Martha Thomas and Alessia Russo set the tone for the fixture at Leigh Sports Village, and Zelem popped up in the second half to put the final nail in the coffin with her stupendous right foot.

The skipper netted twice in the space of four minutes — curling her set-piece straight into the back of Demi Lambourne’s net.
