Incident closes part of M60 between Junctions 20 and 22 – updates

The M60 anti-clockwise has been closed "due to a police incident" that occurred around 5 o'clock this (Tuesday) morning. According to National Highways North-West, the closure is between junctions 20 and 22 of the motorway to the east of Manchester and live traffic maps appear to show slow and stationary vehicles stretching for about a mile towards the Hollinwood Interchange.

Information posted by National Highways at 5:22am stated: "M60 is closed anti-clockwise between J22 (Oldham) and J20 due to police led incident."

North West Motorway Police are said to be at the scene. Officers on the team also tweeted at 5:22am, stating: "We currently have the M60 closed between junction 22 and junction 20 anti clockwise due to ongoing incident, please try and avoid the area if possible, will keep you updated."
