Paul Pogba's 'Pogmentary' has proved exactly what went wrong between him and Man United fans

As I sat on my sofa on Friday morning, I decided that I would watch a couple of episodes of Paul Pogba's 'Pogmentary'. It was a spur of a moment thing. Plenty of the quotes were already online and most Manchester United fans had already passed their verdict so I didn't think there was much new ground to tread.

From minute one you're bombarded with a montage of his best goals and moments from across his career with the soundtrack blaring and graphics flying across the screen while Pogba narrates. It truly is a spectacle and if he was still a United player you'd expect it to be reposted all over Twitter by the fanbase.

An animation follows, talking about Pogba's early days at the club. He states that United is a club that has always been close to his heart and when the series picks up again in 2021, he reiterates that Manchester is where his roots are and where he's raised a family.

After we spend some time with his family, we are given a peek behind the curtain. It is May 2021, and Pogba is having a meeting with the late Mino Raiola and his lawyer Rafaela Pimenta to discuss his future.

“What makes me happy? To be in the project that I’m involved," Pogba says. "Here, I had to do something. I came back from injury, they didn’t help me. They didn’t show care, they didn’t care how I was feeling, so I had to go to the national team to get my confidence back.

“It’s all for the players. They have to feel important in their clubs, and they have to feel important in their teams. If you don’t have that, it’s over.”

The last part feels added for the camera to justify his stance on United and how he goes on to discuss his problems with his club,
