Ian Wright explains why he might not take Man City ace Erling Haaland at Arsenal

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright appeared to suggest he was content with the Gunners not having an Erling Haaland-type player in their squad, claiming their success comes from several different players.

Haaland has been in scintillating form ever since signing for Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund last summer. The Norwegian ace has registered 47 goals and six assists in all competitions this term, including 32 in the Premier League. He scored twice at the weekend as the reigning champions closed the gap on league-leaders Arsenal.

The Blues, meanwhile, could still end the season with three pieces of silverware - with Pep Guardiola's men in contention to win the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup. Despite Haaland's incredible record this campaign, Wright admitted he was unsure if the 22-year-old would improve the Gunners.

Speaking to The Athletic, the former Arsenal and England striker questioned whether a forward like Haaland would benefit Mikel Arteta's side, suggesting the Gunners have a host of different weapons in their team.

"Progress the ball from the back, Thomas Partey, (Martin) Odegaard, (Bukayo) Saka, (Leandro) Trossard, (Gabriel) Martinelli, (Gabriel) Jesus - so many different ways to hurt a team," Wright said. "As much as I was really pleased to be somebody that was at the time the main goalscorer, and you do want somebody who’s scoring between 15 and 25 league goals a season.

"I believe that when you are able to spread the goals around, people can’t plan for it. Of course, you look at Erling Haaland. Magnificent. Amazing what he’s doing and good luck to him.

"But would I change what we’re doing for somebody who’s
