“I wouldn't count them out” – Journalist drops intriguing Newcastle transfer claim on £58m star

Newcastle United cannot be ruled out of the race for wantaway Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic, according to journalist Jacque Talbot.

The highly-rated 23-year-old has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge throughout the summer after struggling for regular game time under manager Thomas Tuchel.

A recent report from the Daily Mail claimed that Newcastle are interested in signing Pulisic on loan and have asked Chelsea to be kept updated about a potential deal for the frustrated attacker.

However, the Magpies may have to fend off the advances of several European heavyweights such as Atletico Madrid, AC Milan, and Juventus to secure the USA international’s signature.

And the Athletic’s Andy Mitten also revealed that Premier League giants Manchester United are considering a move for the in-demand Pulisic.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has made no secret of his desire to add one or two attacking options to his squad before the window slams shut on September 1, and the skilful forward appears to be on his wish list.

The North East outfit have so far been frustrated in their attempts to improve their options in the final third of the pitch, but their results on the pitch have perhaps allowed them to adopt a patient approach.

Newcastle owners Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi were pictured watching Chelsea take on Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge recently at the request of the Blues’ owner Todd Boehly.

Talbot believes that the two clubs could enjoy a ‘fruitful relationship’ and has informed GiveMeSport that he ‘wouldn’t count them out’ of the race for Pulisic.
