'I was in hospital with a brain haemorrhage, now I own a major high-street brand loved by Fearne Cotton and Emma Willis'

As we bid farewell to summer and welcome in the transitional weather, many will be indulging in fall fashion. While the typical autumn palette typically leans towards warm, rich and earthy tones, it can often look and feel a little bit dark and dowdy.

But autumn fashion doesn't have to lack colour - and that's exactly what we found out when we sat down with Jo Tutchener-Sharp, the founder of the major high-street label, Scamp and Dude hours before the launch party for her latest shop. The brand's sixth store has officially opened in St Ann's Square and it's an explosion of colour in the chicest way possible.

The brand was launched in 2016 following a major change in the entrepreneur's life. Now, Scamp and Dude has amassed a massive cult following and celebrity clientele, due to the brand's purpose-led ethos and ethical production methods, as well its gorgeous designs and colourful clothes.

The business wizz, who was the head of PR for massive names such as Estee Lauder and Tom Ford Beauty before owning her own firm for eight years, set up the company after undergoing potentially life-changing brain surgery. "To cut a long story short, I ended up in hospital and had a brain haemorrhage," Jo said.

"In the run-up to my surgery I had loads of dark thoughts, one of them surrounding my legacy. I didn't realise until that moment that I wanted to be remembered for doing good and helping people - and I hadn't done enough of that, which was a devastating feeling."
