'I've lived my dream' Mikey Johnston sends Celtic farewell as he looks forward to going back to being a fan

Mikey Johnston admits he lived the dream at Celtic and playing just ONE minute would have been enough as he said a final farewell.

The Hoops attacker made the switch back south of the border to West Brom on a permanent basis after a brilliant loan spell in the second part of last season. He quickly became a fans' favourite at the Baggies and now he is back long-term. Brendan Rodgers decided to cash in with the Republic of Ireland man down the pecking order.

Johnston took to social media to share a montage of clips that shows his rise from a youngster to the first-team with a selection of his best bits including his goals both domestically and in Europe for Celtic. He wrote on Instagram: "It’s hard to say goodbye. I feel very fortunate to have been able to play for Celtic. I’ve lived my dream, playing just one minute would have been enough.

"Thank you to everyone at the club for helping me grow as a player and as a person throughout the years. Thank you to the fans who supported me through the good times and the bad. Looking forward to a new chapter now and going back to being a Celtic fan again. Hail hail, MJ."

Stephen Welsh responded to the post writing: "Delighted for you mate, good luck." with a red love heart emoji while Celtic's official account posted: "Best of luck, Mikey!" with a green heart.
