"I understand...": Journo drops big Everton transfer update that'll delight Lampard - opinion

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been speculated about a move away from Goodison Park for months, and now a new update has been revealed on the Everton striker’s future.

According to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown, Everton have not had any official bids made for Calvert-Lewin in the current summer transfer window.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Brown claimed:

“Calvert-Lewin’s problem is that the season he’s just had was a bit of a disaster. He didn’t play very much, scored a big goal at the end obviously when he came back, but the teams who are interested in him just haven’t seen very much of Dominic Calvert-Lewin for the last few months.

“So, as far as I understand it, Everton haven’t had any bids for him, and it doesn’t look like any are forthcoming in the near future.”

There is no doubt that Frank Lampard would be absolutely delighted that there have been no official bids for Calvert-Lewin so far this summer, as losing him could seriously weaken the team in the Premier League season ahead.

Despite his injury issues over last season, Calvert-Lewin has been a consistent and reliable performer at Goodison Park with 58 goals and 18 assists since joining the club as a teenager back in 2016 for just £1.5m.

The Toffees striker is now valued at £36m as per Transfermarkt, earning 11 senior England caps and scoring four goals for his national side proving the player has gone from strength to strength during his time at the Merseyside club.

Lampard has always had high praise for Calvert-Lewin, and responded defiantly to rumours that the centre-forward could leave the club this summer in a press conference towards the end of last season (via Liverpool Echo):
