Natasha Bowles, 28, a spa manager at the Manchester Marriott Piccadilly shared how couples can indulge in a sumptuous massage while lounging on the sofa and enjoying their favourite series.
With the rise of social media trends that favour staying in and focusing on wellness over going out, Natasha shared tips for transforming a quiet night in into something truly memorable, for all the right reasons.
Natasha revealed: "You could easily sit at home, you could get a little bit of oil, a little bit of lotion out for your partner, and massage hands and arms because it's really easy to do anywhere - whether that's just on the sofa watching TV, whether you've just gone to bed, or whether you're sat at the kitchen table, it's that easy."
She then elaborated on the specific massage technique. She described: "All you're going to do, is you're going to start effleuraging the forearms, into the fingertips, doing little circular movements around each knuckle.
"That's going to really hydrate your cuticles, the knuckles - especially in winter when it's a bit colder - and then you can massage up the wrist which is going to help anyone who works from home and use computers."
For those unfamiliar, effleurage is a light friction technique often used to start a massage treatment. It consists of long, stroking movements performed with a flat hand or fingers and is used to enhance the lymphatic system's flow.
