"I'm sure…" – Journalist drops Wolves transfer verdict on £34.2m-rated Portuguese duo
Wolverhampton Wanderers ‘are looking at’ Portuguese duo David Carmo and Goncalo Inacio this summer, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.
The talented defenders have both been linked with moves to Molineux in recent weeks after putting in a string of impressive performances in their homeland.
A recent report from O Jogo claimed that Wolves are the ‘latest’ club to join the race for Carmo, with Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester United also listed as potential suitors.
It’s believed that the 22-year-old has a non-negotiable €25 million (£21.5m) asking price, which the Midlands outfit are aware of after making an initial approach for the Braga ace.
Meanwhile, The Mirror state that Wolves are ‘closing in’ on the signature of Inacio as the 6-foot rising star is keen for the transfer to happen.
The 20-year-old is under contract at Sporting until the summer of 2026 and has a £39m buyout clause inserted into his deal, although the club are thought to be open to accepting a fee in the region of £30m.
Whether Wolves manager Bruno Lage moves for both centre-backs or chooses between Carmo and Inacio remains to be seen, but it appears they are high up their compatriot’s wish list.
Thanks to their close relationship with super-agent Jorge Mendes, Wolves have a strong Portuguese contingent at the club, and O’Rourke believes they could return to a marketplace they’ve had previous success in this summer.

“So, there’s no reason why they wouldn’t look at that potential pathway again, and I’m sure they are looking at both of these players,
