Adama Traore drops hint as manager confirms Wolves transfer plan to Bruno Lage

Here are your latest Wolves headlines on Thursday, June 30...

Adama Traore has teased supporters over a potential transfer as Wolverhampton Wanderers bid to resolve his future this summer.

Traore only has one year remaining on his contract at Wolves having rejected several offers of a new one. Wolves loaned the winger to Barcelona for the second half of last season, but the La Liga club haven’t given any indication that they will be taking up their £25m option to buy Traore.

The option in that loan deal is due to expire imminently, and Wolves are expecting Traore to return to Compton Park for pre-season as things stand. Wolves returned to training on Monday for testing, with preparations set to ramp up next week before Bruno Lage and his players fly out to Alicante for a training camp.

Whether Traore will be part of Wolves’ travelling party to Spain remains to be seen. The 26 year-old has been holidaying in Dubai with his family during the close season.

However, Traore’s latest Instagram post has left supporters wondering whether his future could be in Barcelona after all. Traore re-posted a video of his Barcelona highlights on his Instagram story with the message: “I am coming.”

Barcelona president Joan Laporta and head coach Xavi have spoken highly of Traore, with Laporta suggesting the club’s financial constraints have prevented them from triggering the option in the loan agreement. A potential swap deal involving Francisco Trincao has also been mooted, although the Portuguese winger is hoping to join Sporting after a difficult spell with Wolves.

Bruno Lage has returned to Compton Park for pre-season as Wolverhampton Wanderers accelerate preparations for the start of the new Premier League campaign.
