I‘ll punish Liam Pope inside the ring, Nestor Bolum boasts

Sydney-Based Nigerian professional boxer, Nestor Bolum, has vowed to give his best in the forthcoming vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) Australiasian title fight against Liam Pope. The 10-round contest, slated for June 30, in Sydney, will cost the fans as much as $3,000, according to the organisers.

Each fan will pay $70 for the regular ticket, $2,500 VIP and $3,000 for VVIP ticket. Homeboy, Tyler Billzard, had pulled out of the contest for Liam Pope to step in for the vacant Australian Featherweight title belt.

Speaking with The Guardian, after his morning training, yesterday, the Delta State-born Nestor Bolum, who represented Nigeria at Athens 2004 Olympic Games, said he is training hard for the fight, adding that Australian boxing fans will enjoy every bit of the fight on June 30.

“The build up to the fight is generating a lot of interest from boxing fans here in Australia,” he said.

“I won’t give Liam Pope any breathing space throughout the fight.”

After his comeback victory against another homeboy, Luke Martin, in Sydney last year, Bolum is being celebrated as a knockout specialist in Australia.

“I will ensure that Liam Pope gets the punishment he deserves because I am working with experienced coaches, including George Tannous and Liam O’Brien. They are great people, who have seen a lot in boxing. I am confident of winning the belt.”
