'I cried for hours' - Elderly residents left in 'freezing temperatures' for weeks without heating
Vulnerable and elderly residents have been without proper heating and hot water in 'ice-cold' conditions for several weeks.
Flats at a retirement housing on Bath Crescent, in Old Trafford, have been left without effective heating from a water leakage since the early hours of January 25.
The housing association, Your Housing Group, has been called out by several tenants this winter as people have suffered without their essential central heating and hot water during the year's early bitter spell.

While some residents have attempted to combat the 'freezing temperatures', others were 'reduced to tears' as they say no amount of coats, duvets, and thermal blankets 'could prevent the toughest people from feeling the cold'. One woman feels 'let down' by the housing association and said they have been dealing with 'unacceptable' conditions on the property.
"We have been told at meetings repairs would be starting by now (two flats a day), and though we pay for a scheme manager, residents who may need assistance or support have experienced scarce contact," Christine Walker told the Manchester Evening News.
The 67-year-old retired NHS worker added: "I'm quite fit and tough but even sat with a fleece blanket I cried for hours because it was colder inside my flat than outside. Heating and hot water is a priority in winter, especially for tenants with carers completely tied to their flat. Somebody should be checking these residents every day but there has been no sight or sound of anybody.
"We were told repairs would begin on February 6th, that's at least 20 flats that should be fixed now and it took 16 days before all residents received two heaters. The
