'I am not happy' - Andre Onana addresses personal Manchester United struggles and makes Erik ten Hag admission

Andre Onana has scoffed at claims he has become a terrible goalkeeper since arriving at Manchester United in the summer - but admits he is 'not happy' with current form.

Onana joined United in a £47.2million deal, reuniting with former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman saw off long-term first-choice David de Gea in order to bring in a goalkeeper better suited to his tactical ideals.

The Cameroon international has shown spells of brilliance this season but his start to life at United has been littered with unforced errors and poor shot-stopping. He played a major part in his side's elimination from the Champions League, conceding soft goals against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray in particular.

“If I have to speak about my season so far for Manchester United, I am not happy because I know I can do much much better, I've done it and I know I will do it better than what is happening now,” a defiant Onana told Sky Sports. “We are not facing a good moment. I hope things will change as soon as possible.

“But listen, you want to tell me in six months the best goalkeeper in the Champions League last season can become the worst in the world? Nah.

“Everything is temporary. I know it'll be alright. If not today, it will be tomorrow, if not tomorrow, the day after tomorrow.”

United's Champions League exit was confirmed with Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at home to Bayern Munich, their third loss in four matches and 12th of the season across all competitions.
