'Hungover' Craig Doyle left red-faced over This Morning guest error as viewers predict Ofcom complaints
He's had days away from the show but Craig Doyle wasn't feeling quite so fresh when he returned to the helm of This Morning. The Irish broadcaster was back fronting the ITV daytime programme on Thursday (August 3) alongside Josie Gibson.
It's only the second time the pair have been seen on the show this week due to ITV's usual morning schedule being disrupted by coverage of the Fifa Women's World Cup. But kicking off the penultimate show of the week, Craig was feeling a little more fragile than usual.
As Josie gave a warm welcome to viewers following the iconic opening titles, she said: "I am joined by the one and only Craig Doyle, who’s not quite himself today." She then placed a sympathetic hand on his shoulder as Craig took a deep breath. "How are you doing cherub?" the 38-year-old asked.

And while Craig, 52, originally tried to deflect from the truth, telling Josie: "I think it might be a cold or some allergies," he eventually admitted: "Or maybe it’s because the rugby guys and girls were out last night. We were out for the launch of the rugby season..."
He then revealed that his friends may have tried to purposely attempt to sabotage his working day as he said: "If you tell rugby players, boxers, and football players that you’re going to be on This Morning at 10’o clock the next morning, do you know what they do? They lock you into a corner of a bar and they try to destroy your next day."
He then admitted: "They’ve done an okay job." But Craig soon left Josie blushing as he said of the rugby guys, "They love you," to which Josie immediately responded: "Like really love me?"
