Hungarian GP: Lando Norris bidding to enter summer break on high note
McLaren driver Lando Norris says he’s aiming to enter the summer break on a high note as the team looks to continue their fight for fourth with Alpine at the Hungarian GP.
The British driver is having another solid season and is leading the team’s charge in their fight against Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon’s outfit, with the two teams seemingly set for a battle for fourth right up until the end of the campaign.
Alfa Romeo want to get into that fight, of course, but they have lost momentum in recent weeks and it remains to be seen if they can rejoin the fight.
Lando, though, is fully focused on achieving a positive result for McLaren this weekend, as F1 heads once again to the Hungaroring before the summer break:
“Hungary, let’s go! It’s the last race before the summer break so we’ll give it everything and leave it all on the track.
“It’s a challenging circuit with not tonnes of opportunity for overtaking but there is a nice opportunity to get some points. We maximized our result in France, and we’ve been looking at the data as a team to make sure we’re in the best place we can be moving forward with the upgrades.
“We still have a lot of work to do, particularly in the fight with Alpine, but we’re heading into the summer break with our heads held high and in a positive position to fight in part two of the season.”
It’s a circuit that doesn’t always generate the most overtakes, but with the new era F1 cars in mind perhaps things will change on that front too.
