Hull KR talking points from Toulouse defeat: Rut, fresh injuries and derby win vital

Hull KR continued their poor form with a 28-6 defeat away from home, as tries from Schaumkel, Marcon, Hankinson and Ashall-Bott put the Robins to the sword in Toulouse.

It was dubbed a must-win game for Rovers, but it was the hosts who took home the spoils as the league's bottom side picked up only their third win of 2022.

The Robins failed to get out of their slump in form as Toulouse inflicted another heavy defeat upon Tony Smith's side. Although Rovers still sit in seventh place on the Super League ladder, one win in eight is just not good enough for a side with playoff ambitions. Once again, the game drifted past without Rovers offering any sort of threat to Olympique, who well deserved the two points. Many of the club's supporters vented their frustrations from the terraces of the Stade Ernest Wallon as the reds picked up another loss.

It seems like the injury list at Sewell Group Craven Park is growing each week, and unfortunately for Hull KR, they picked up another set of casualties during the heavy defeat. Matty Storton dislocated his toe as Tony Smith said his physio and doctor couldn't put it back into place straight away. In addition, utility man Jimmy Keinhorst looked to have failed an HIA place and will go through some routine tests before being allowed to fly home on Sunday afternoon. Updates will become more apparent early next week, but the hope is that Rovers will have at least Ryan Hall and Lachlan Coote back for the Hull derby.
