Hull KR provide update on injured captain Shaun Kenny-Dowall

Hull KR have provided an update on injured captain Shaun Kenny-Dowall following the club’s victory over Wakefield. 

Kenny-Dowall, 34, was sent to hospital after leaving the field in the first half during the 15-10 win over Trinity at Craven Park.

The club have confirmed a neck injury for the centre, while he is being monitored by the club’s medical staff.

Hull KR said: “Shaun Kenny-Dowall suffered a neck injury from a high tackle in the first half of Sunday’s fixture against Wakefield Trinity.

“The Robin’s captain was responsive, leaving the field and being taken to the hospital for precautionary checks. SKD was discharged from the hospital and is being monitored by Hull KR’s medical staff.”

Forward Dean Hadley also left the field on Sunday with a dislocated shoulder. The club confirmed he will undergo further scans and see a consultant later this week.

Albert Vete is pushing to feature against Warrington at the Halliwell Jones Stadium this Friday. He has been suffering from a groin issue.

Meanwhile, Frankie Halton continues to miss out due to a ruptured AC joint. The Ireland international is expected to return early August.

Matty Storton is still on the road to recovery after dislocating his toe early in the loss to Toulouse. Storton will look to push for selection again in the coming weeks once the inflammation around the injury has reduced.

Both Jordan Abdull and Brad Takairangi are now back on the field and recovering well. The pair continue their rehabilitations with the club from a quad tear and a hamstring tear.
