Hull KR 10-38 Huddersfield: Jermaine McGillvary scores 200th club try in dominant second-half performance
Jermaine McGillvary crossed for his 200th Huddersfield try as his side claimed a 38-10 victory over Hull KR at Craven Park.
Ian Watson’s Giants displayed a dominant second-half performance over an injury-hit Hull KR side, which also included a hat-trick for veteran centre Leroy Cudjoe.
Huddersfield extend their winning streak to six in Super League.
Tony Smith made just one change to the side that lost 26-18 to St Helens before the international break. Greg Richards returned to the side replacing the injured Luis Johnson.
For the Giants, Innes Senior and Oliver Russell both returned. Captain Luke Yates also returned from his two-match suspension.
Hull KR opened the scoring inside the first two minutes through hooker Matt Parcell. Tui Lolohea made the error kicking-off on the full, and the hosts took advantage with their first set of the clash to score. Parcell in the right place at the right time to collect a kick rebound to dive over on the last.
Ireland international Frankie Halton thought he extended the lead four minutes later, only to have his grounding disallowed by the video referee.
The Robins fell to some early injuries in the game. Elliot Minchella left the field with a head injury but later passed his test to return. However, George King and Ryan Hall both left the field with hamstring and ribs injuries respectively. The pair did not return.
Cudjoe crossed for his first try of the season on 29 minutes. The Huddersfield centre chased down a grubber kick from Lolohea to ground the ball. Will Pryce giving his side the lead from the boot for a 6-4 score.
34-year-old Cudjoe doubled his tally just five minutes later, again chasing down a kick this time from Pryce to score.
