Hull FC coach Brett Hodgson reveals costly injuries in defeat at Warrington
Brett Hodgson is counting the cost of Hull FC's 4-0 defeat to Warrington, with the Black and Whites losing both Adam Swift and Luke Gale to first half injuries. Swift left the game with a leg injury, with Gale failing his HIA assessment after an awkward contact when trying to get the ball down over the try-line - two incidents that effected the way Hull played out the game.
"Luke is not good and has gone to hospital," Hodgson told Hull Live. "Hopefully he'll be okay. Losing Luke with a concussion at that time hurt the way we wanted to play. You could see we were very disjointed.
"It looks like Adam might have broken his leg so he's gone to hospital as well. I can't remember the last time we had a fit team from one to twenty five to chose from."
Gale was playing well before being helped off the field, but after his withdrawal, Hull struggled to get over the line despite plenty of endeavour in what was an awful game to watch.
"It's probably not the best spectacle of rugby league I've ever seen, but it's hard to be disappointed when the effort was what it was, especially after losing a couple of key players," Hodgson continued.
"However, some simple errors probably didn't allow us to build enough pressure. I'm not entirely disappointed because the effort was there and that's what we spoke about.
"But today was a day where some individuals were off. It's just attention to detail - a simple catch or a pick up from dummy half. But losing any player effects your team and a pivotal one effects the entire structure of your team."
