Hull City, Sunderland, Portsmouth and Luton Town battling for Tottenham player’s signature on deadline day

Hull City, Sunderland, Portsmouth and Luton Town are all reportedly pushing to sign the 20-year old in the closing hours of the window. 

According to the Evening Standard, all four clubs are in contact with Spurs over the player’s future. 

White has recently been a part of Tottenham’s first team squad, but was an unused substitute for two of their recent games against London rivals Chelsea.

Any deal that gets finalised will be on a temporary basis on loan, as the midfielder is highly rated at Tottenham. 

White spent the latter half of last season on loan at Portsmouth, so a return to Pompey could be attractive to the promising midfielder.

However, Hull City do offer Championship experience which could sway his decision making. 

Stoke City were also said to be interested in a move for the player, but have ruled themselves out of a move for the player this window and are instead more interested in a Summer deal for White. 

Hull were recently taken over by Acun Ilicali and have been very active in the last few days of the transfer market as he looks to invest in his new club.

Hull are 19th in the Championship, but have found themselves in a three match winning run that has seen them notch up impressive wins against promotion chasing Blackburn Rovers and Bournemouth.

Next up for the Tigers is the visit of Preston North End to the MKM Stadium on February 5. 

White has a decision to make now and not a whole lot of time to do it. The window slams shut at 11pm tonight.

The decision does seem to be whether to go back to Portsmouth, where he enjoyed a good stint with the club last season, or take the step up to the Championship.
