Hull City make key decision and it's great news for local fans

Hull City membership holders will be able to watch the Tigers' Under-21 side for free this season, after striking an agreement with local non-league club North Ferriby to return after four years.

Richard Naylor's youngsters will play their home games at the Dransfield Stadium having spent the last couple of seasons at York City's new LNER Stadium, and the 12,000 or so Tigers members signed up for the new Championship campaign will be able to watch the club's youngsters for free.

City, who were managed by Andy Dawson prior to his promotion as first team coach at the MKM Stadium, ended last term with a run of five wins and a draw from their final six games of the Professional Development League campaign including a thumping 4-2 win at Charlton Athletic on the final day to finish third in the table behind Coventry City and winners Sheffield United.

“North Ferriby FC are delighted to welcome Hull City Under-21s back to The Dransfield," said Ferriby chairman Les Hare. "This is great news for our football community and particularly for season pass holders of both clubs who will be granted free entry to League games”.

Naylor, meanwhile, expressed his delight at seeing the Tigers return to the village in a move that will enable more Tigers fans to watch the youngsters in action.

"We're delighted to be returning to North Ferriby after a few successful years playing at the LNER Community Stadium in York," Naylor said. "Every time we have faced North Ferriby, we have been impressed with the improvements made in recent years and we are delighted to be using for them for the 2022/23 season.”

City have also confirmed an extension to their deal with Bishop Burton College, which sees the Tigers remain there for the next two years.
