Hull City 1-1 Swansea City: Swans see faint play-off hopes ended in stalemate on Humberside

Swansea City saw their faint play-off hopes extinguished after being held to a draw by Hull City at the MKM Stadium.

Ben Cabango's own goal gave the hosts an early lead, before Luke Cundle restored parity after rounding off a brilliant team move shortly before half-time.

Allahyar then smashed an effort off the woodwork as the hosts looked to restore their advantage, but neither side could find a second breakthrough.

The result ends Swansea's hopes of an unlikely top six place, but extends their unbeaten run to eight games, and there were plenty of positives for Russell Martin to take, including another eye-catching performance from Nathan Wood at the back.

But their hopes of repeating those heroics were dealt a bodyblow after just four minutes.

A cross-field ball found Harry Vaughan in acres of space out wide on the left, with the winger racing away to the byline before pulling back for Ozan Tufan, before Cabango touched the ball through the legs of Swans goalkeeper Andy Fisher and into his own net.

Swansea, to their credit, kept calm, and once again dominated possession in the middle of the park. But a blocked Jamie Paterson effort aside, they initially struggled to really trouble a Hull defence that had previously kept a clean sheet in seven of their last eight games.

Fisher produced a smart save to deny Adama Traore's low drive at the other end, before Liam Cullen headed over as the Swans continued to huff and puff in the final third.
