Huddersfield Town transfer rumour answered amid Harry Toffolo link to Middlesbrough and Blackburn

Harry Toffolo’s Huddersfield Town future remains up in the air with his contract set to expire this summer as it stands, and rumours have suggested that other Championship clubs will be circling for his signature if a resolution cannot be found.

The club opened talks with the left-back’s representatives towards the beginning of the season, as revealed by then-chairman Phil Hodgkinson in September, but there has been no movement in the negotiations since then. Winger Josh Koroma is in a similar position.

TeamTalk have now reported that Blackburn Rovers, Middlesbrough, and two of his former clubs in Millwall and Norwich City are interested in making a move for Toffolo, who has been a key player for the Terriers since joining from Lincoln City for around £500,000 in January 2020.

Toffolo has said he hopes that at the very least the club will take up their option to trigger the one-year extension on his contract before the end of the campaign, saying he is enjoying his time at the club. TeamTalk suggest Town have told Toffolo they intend to do exactly that.

Toffolo finishes the 46-game league campaign as Town’s joint second-highest goalscorer (behind Danny Ward, on 14) after claiming five goals in the last seven games, moving him level with Danel Sinani on six for the season. Corberan commented:
