Huddersfield Town pre-season training camp destination and dates revealed

Huddersfield Town will have a short spell working at the England national teams' training facility, St George's Park, as they prepare for the early start to the Championship season next month.

The Terriers habitually went to Austria for pre-season before the covid pandemic meant international travel was restricted. Carlos Corberan and his side spent time in East Anglia last summer, with their schedule including a friendly against Norwich City at their training ground.

Next month Town will head to Staffordshire for four days to make the most of the the extremely well-equipped training ground that Gareth Southgate and Sarina Wiegman call home during international breaks.

Town's announcement of the news reads: "St. George’s Park is set across 333-acres of Staffordshire countryside and is home to all 27 of England’s national teams. The facility boasts 13 outdoor pitches, a full-size indoor 3G pitch, a suite of rehabilitation and sports science areas, an indoor Futsal sports hall and on-site Hilton hotel.

"Taking advantage of the state-of-the-art facilities that will accommodate for all on-field, gym based and performance work, the trip will allow the side a concentrated period together ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, giving the First Team staff across all disciplines the opportunity to conduct all the sessions and meetings they deem necessary."

Town have so far announced two pre-season friendlies, with trips to Harrogate Town and Bolton Wanderers set for Saturday 16th July and Saturday 23rd July respectively. More friendly games are expected to be announced in the coming days.
