Huddersfield Town players calm and confident thanks to the plans of the 'professor'

The wait is nearly over after an extended end to the season left an agonising two weeks between the semis and the Championship play-off final. Huddersfield Town fans have been wondering out the window all week what might happen, and it hasn’t been any easier for the players.

Their time has, at least, been broken by a warm weather training camp in Portugal. The break has also allowed a few to get back to full fitness who were struggling with positive news all round from Carlos Corberan’s pre-game injury update. Still though the anticipation has built and with that comes some nerves for all involved.

One man who is chewing at the bit is Sorba Thomas, Town’s very own Welsh wizard. The Terriers’ single most creative player was injured and reduced to a bit part in the semi-finals, but still made a huge impact with the assist for Jordan Rhodes’ winner against Luton. With 14 assists and three goals this season in all competitions he cannot wait to get involved on Saturday.

“I’m excited, can’t wait to go!” said Thomas speaking on Thursday, “this week has been tense… the gaffer has just been getting his point across to everyone on how we can defeat Forest on Sunday, there have been some conversations, for us we know what we’ve got to do to get the job done. The difference could be the crowd and how loud they sing for us, or it could be the multiple plans the professor has for us.”

That level of planning has been the keystone of Town’s season and on top of that for this game the Terriers have play-off experience in various areas of the pitch.
