Huddersfield Town fans react as yet another fixture moves for television
Huddersfield Town’s success this season has been a welcome upturn in fortune after three difficult years but there has been a price. As one of the Championship’s front runners for the top six their games have now become perfect for television selection, and kick-offs since the new year have been moved accordingly and repeatedly.
On Friday it was announced that the latest game to move for Sky coverage would be the home fixture against Barnsley in April. That means of the Terriers’ seven remaining fixtures five will be live on Sky. It also sees Town play on a Friday twice, a Monday twice, lunchtime on a Saturday once, and away to Coventry at 3 o’clock on a Saturday afternoon.
The traditional afternoon slot has been a rare thing for the club in 2022. Of seven home league games this year only two have been 3 o’clock Saturday kick-offs. With not a single one left at the John Smith’s Stadium this season some fans are annoyed that they have to reshape their plans to accommodate television coverage on a weekly basis.

With the changes comes the need to rearrange plans and evening kick-offs mean younger children can’t attend. Some took to social media to make their feelings known, here’s a selection:
Next 5 games all on TV… Beyond a joke now… I’d rather just be able to go watch football at 3pm, like it should be done.
Just because a team is doing well fans shouldn't accept late fixture changes, especially when having to travel long distances when journeys already organised and paid
