It's the beginning of the post-Lee Johnson era for Hibs and while even the miracle of all miracles might not be enough to save their European campaign, they'll be determined not to go out with a whimper.

A 5-0 defeat in Leith spelled the beginning of the end for Johnson as Aston Villa ran riot before Livingston's win at Easter Road three days later proved to be the final straw. They now begin their search for a new manager but in the meantime, fans will be demanding a much improved showing to save some face on the European stage.

You could forgive some of the Hibs stars for dreading the trip south given how they were overpowered on home turf but with the job virtually done for Unai Emery's team, a vastly changed Villa side might not prove as formidable. It will be David Gray in the visiting dugout and he'll be hoping for a performance that can reinstill some belief in his bruised troops.

The second leg of the Europa Conference League playoff between Aston Villa and Hibs takes place on Thursday, September 1 at Villa Park in Birmingham. Kick-off is at 8pm UK time.

The game has not been selected for broadcast on live TV. TNT Sports and Viaplay are showing other European games while the BBC, who showed the first leg live on BBC Scotland, have chosen to show Aberdeen's clash with Hacken instead.

All isn't lost for fans wanting to watch the game live, though. Aston Villa are streaming the game live on Villa TV and a pass can be purchased for £4.99 via the official Villa website. Hibs have not yet announced whether Hibs TV will be providing a similar PPV option.
