How to appeal and remark A-level exam results 2023 for AQA, OCR, Pearson, WJEC and CAIE

Students across the UK are set to receive their A-level grades on Thursday.

After two years of hard work and revising for exams thousands of teenagers will be hoping they have done enough to get the grades to get into their chosen universities or colleges.

However, sometimes it doesn't always work out and for whatever reason you may not have done as well as you were expecting - and it may be that you want to appeal a result.

There be a number of reasons why you want to appeal including if you think there may have been a mistake in the marking process or you feel your exam deserved a better grade.

If you are looking to get your exams or coursework remarked then there is a process you can follow.

Firstly you should contact your school or college to challenge the A-level grade. They can then request that the exam board reviews the marking of your exam entry. Private candidates should contact the exam board directly.

The exam board will then check your entry for any marking mistakes and will then change the grade if they find any.

However it may not always go up and the new grade could be higher or lower than the original.

If after your exam has been remarked you and you still think there is a mistake you can ask your school or college to appeal the result. The exam board will look at your work again and decide if it needs correcting.
