Woman, 27, tells police 'I was a sweet, innocent girl before this' after 'stabbing man to death' in her flat

A woman has admitted she must have stabbed a man to death after a day in the pub - but claims she doesn't remember doing it.

Learose Cheng is on trial accused of murdering 39-year-old Dylan Bacon. He died on March 14 last year after being found in a pool of his own blood outside a block of flats in Liverpool.

Liverpool Crown Court heard a trail of blood led police back to Cheng's apartment, after which she told officers that Mr Bacon had knifed her then "killed himself because he didn't want to go to prison" - although she now concedes that she inflicted his fatal wounds.

They had earlier spent the afternoon drinking together in the pub before she was "violently sick" and had to leave, the ECHO reports.

The 27-year-old began giving evidence from the witness box on Wednesday (August 16). On the stand, she described how she had suffered mental health problems from the age of 11 - which worsened while she was living alone during the Covid-19 pandemic - and had spent her early and mid 20s in a series of toxic relationships.

Under questioning from her barrister Clare Wade KC, Cheng said she had begun frequenting Mr Smith's pub in late 2020, at which point she met Mr Bacon.

Cheng recalled spending the morning of March 14 2022 "drinking wine in the bath" before visiting her granddad to "ask if we could go for a drink", after which they went to Hoggin's Irish Pub. She told the court: "I remember going in there.

"I went to the bar and got some wine, I knocked mine over by accident. We had a few in there. I was upset and I was talking to him about Jordan. We were only meant to have two in the Irish bar, but we had a bit more than that."
