How Manchester United should line up vs Everton in Premier League fixture

Manchester United take on Everton at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

United were humiliated in the Manchester derby last weekend and there was potential for a new low at half-time against Omonia Nicosia. The Cypriot side took a shock lead in the first half before United responded to eventually win the match 3-2.

Marcus Rashford scored two and Anthony Martial also got on the scoresheet, which has increased the pressure on Erik ten Hag to start both of those players against Everton, with Jadon Sancho facing a potential benching after a poor display.

Everton have conceded the fewest goals (7) in the Premier League this season and United will have the challenge of breaking them down this weekend. Regarding team news, Harry Maguire is unavailable again and a late call will be made on Raphael Varane.

Samuel Luckhurst

If Varane is fit then he has to start. Tyrell Malacia has played his way out of the team and Luke Shaw should come in. Casemiro hardly impressed in Nicosia but it would be remiss to judge him on a Europa League game in what was his first United start in four weeks.

He’s also a much more polished passer than McTominay. Martial and Rashford both merit starts, with Antony in by default on the right.

The changes Ten Hag made during the game in Cyprus worked and most of the players who came on should come in to the starting XI at Goodison Park.

Varane should start ahead of Lindelof if he's fit but a change is coming at left-back, where Shaw clearly merits starting ahead of Malacia after their respective performances this week.
