Ten Hag is eager to reinforce his squad during the summer window and is also aware of the need to get business done as early as possible so that new signings can be up and running for the start of the season.

United have learned their lesson from a year ago, when they lost their opening two matches before making high-profile moves for Casemiro and Antony to help get them on the right track.
