How Manchester United can benefit from Erik ten Hag exit as Bayern Munich move makes sense
Erik ten Hag has reportedly emerged as a potential candidate to take over from Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich despite insisting he is focussed on the job at Manchester United.
According to reports in Germany, the 54-year-old is said to be on Bayern shortlist ahead of next season. This comes after former United interim manager Ralf Rangnick turned down the job to commit his future to the Austria national team.
Sky Sports in Germany add that Bayern have approached Ten Hag's agent Kees Voos to enquire about his availability and while the Dutchman is said to be aware of their interest, no formal talks have taken place. It is also believed that two other clubs have expressed concrete interest in Ten Hag.

Recently questioned about a possible return to his former club Ajax amid reports of a summer exit, he said: "The fact is that I still have a contract here for another year. I signed consciously and am not a person who walks away. So, I assume that I will be at Manchester United next season. Has there been any contact with Ajax? No."
Although Ten Hag didn't rule out a move back to Amsterdam in the future, he insisted on being solely focussed on preparations for next season despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe being unconvinced he's the right man to take the club forward.
