How is Theo Corbeanu getting on away from Wolverhampton Wanderers at MK Dons?

Wolves made the decision to send Theo Corbeanu to MK Dons in the January transfer window after the winger endured a mixed start to the season on loan with Sheffield Wednesday.

The 19-year-old is one of several highly-rated players coming through at Molineux, but he has understandably had to go out on loan to get first-team football as Bruno Lage’s men try to push for European football.

As mentioned, a temporary spell with the Owls didn’t go to plan, as Darren Moore often used him as a wing-back, so a switch to fellow League One outfit MK Dons was arranged.

And, it’s fair to say that it’s working out quite well for Corbeanu.

The Canadian international made an instant impact in Liam Manning’s attack-minded side, scoring in his second game and starting six games in a row, where the team won five times.

Despite that, competition is pretty fierce in the final third at MK Dons, which has seen the teenager drop out of the side on occasions, as he went on to play in just two of the next six fixtures.

Nevertheless, Corbeanu’s quality is still very much appreciated by key figures at the club, so he was back in the XI for the midweek victory over Cheltenham and the player offered timely reminder of his ability, as he registered an assist in the 3-1 victory.

That result left MK Dons third in the League One table, level on points with second-placed Wigan who do have three games in hand.

Whilst securing automatic promotion might seem difficult due to that, Manning’s men have a real chance of going up to the Championship and Corbeanu will have a big role to play.

For Wolves, that’s exactly what they would’ve wanted when they made the call to send the attacker to MK Dons in January. It’s his first full season playing regularly
