How is ex-West Brom man Peter Odemwingie getting on these days?

Starting his senior career with Nigeiran club Bendel Insurance, Peter Odemwingie went on to enjoy spells with Lille and Lokomotiv Moscow before joining West Brom.

The now 40-year-old arrived at The Hawthorns in the summer of 2010, signing a two-year contract, with the club possessing an additional year option.

Proceeding to score the winner in his Premier League debut, which came in the form of a 1-0 victory over Sunderland, Odemwingie netted 15 times in his first season in English football.

The former Nigerian international was unable to hit the heights of his first season in the following two for the Baggies, netting 10 during the 2011/12 campaign, with five coming in his last at The Hawthorns.

Odemwingie joined Cardiff City immediately after three seasons at the Midlands club, before spending three years at Stoke City.

During his four years at those two clubs, he was confined to just 42 Premier League appearances and six goals.

In March 2016, the striker joined Bristol City in the Championship on loan, scoring twice in seven league appearances.

Rotherham United emerged as the next permanent destination for Odemwingie in the summer of 2016, with the forward appearing just seven times for the Millers, with three of those game scoring from the very start.

Odemwingie ended his playing career in Indonesia’s Liga 1, scoring 15 times in 22 appearances for Madura United.

In early 2020, a report from Golf Monthly stated that Odemwingie was hoping to become a professional golfer and was completing his PGA training.

Almost a year later, the former striker spoke to Goal about his future plans once more, indicating that he would be starting a Degree, whilst he was open to completing his coaching badges.
