'Will manage...' - Newcastle's Eddie Howe tipped for major managerial job
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has been dubbed for the England manager role in the future by former player Jonathan Woodgate.
Eddie Howe has transformed Newcastle United’s form around this season since arriving at St James’s Park. Indeed, before their two recent defeats in the Premier League, the Magpies last defeat came in December against Manchester City. This fine form has seen them escape the relegation zone and rise to 14th in the league standings.
Howe was brought into Newcastle after the Saudi takeover, and it’s fair to say that the financial backing has already paid dividends as the January recruitment has helped the change in form at the club, with Dan Burn, Kieran Trippier, and Matt Targett already having a significant impact.
However, Jonathan Woodgate’s focus is on Eddie Howe as he has highlighted just how highly he rates the English boss, whilst identifying that he can see him managing England one day.
“He’s turned the club around and I hope they stick with him for as long as they can because he’s an exceptional young English manager who one day will manage England in my view. I think he’s that good,” Woodgate said.
TIF Thoughts on Eddie Howe and Newcastle…
Since Newcastle’s defeat against Manchester City in December, the Magpies have lost just twice out of their last 11 Premier League games. He has taken them from a club who couldn’t buy a win and were sitting firmly in the relegation zone, to a side that is flourishing with a new crop of players.
It was imperative that if Newcastle wanted to push on as a club and use their newly found financial wealth, then they would have to escape relegation to the Championship, and Eddie Howe’s management has led them to a position where it is hard to see them slipping back
