Hour-by-hour weather forecast as Manchester bakes in 27C heat
This week's heatwave will continue to sweep across Greater Manchester with temperatures peaking at 27C.
In fact, temperatures will be higher in the city today than in some popular holiday destinations such as the south of France, which is predicted to reach 24C. According to the Met Office, the north west will see plenty of sunshine throughout the day with light showers striking in the late evening.
The early morning will see the day start off with plenty of sunshine accompanied by growing temperatures. While the sun will go on hiatus in the mid-afternoon, temperatures will remain high well into the evening.

The Met Office added: "It may be cloudy at times across the north during the morning, otherwise it will be a generally fine and sunny day. A few isolated showers or thunderstorms may develop late afternoon onwards. Very warm and feeling locally hot inland. Maximum temperature 29 °C."
Speaking about the downturn in the evening, it added: "Scattered locally heavy and thundery showers will spread from the south during the evening, giving some heavy downpours in places overnight before largely clearing by morning. Minimum temperature 12 °C."
