There’s a valuable card at Ascot on Saturday afternoon and you can follow all of the action with us.

The Grade 1 Betfair Ascot Chase is the centrepiece at 3.38 and the ante-post favourite for the prize has been the Joseph O’Brien-trained Fakir D’oudairies.

He impressed in the Clonmel Oil Chase in November and was second in the Ryanair Chase at last season’s Cheltenham Festival.

Paul Nicholls still has his stable under a minor cloud so he’ll be hoping that Saint Calvados can help to blow those ills away. The form of the Ditcheat yard being in complete contrast to that of the Venetia Williams stable and her golden streak will ensure there’s plenty of support around for Fanion d’Estruval.

Earlier in the card, the Reynoldstown Chase has attracted a keen entry and the Kim Bailey-trained Does He Know attempts to give weight and a beating to his rivals.

Racing also takes place at Haydock Park after passing an early morning inspection where the feature race is the Grade 3 Grand National Trial (2.40). The lightly-weighted Secret Reprieve arrives into the contest as the winner of the Welsh Grand National at Chepstow and is already proven under testing conditions.

There is also racing at Wincanton and Flat racing from Lingfield while there could be a few Festival clues (both Cheltenham and Punchestown) over at Gowran Park in Ireland.
