It’s the Epsom Derby next week but we warm up for that showpiece with a very busy Saturday of action as we bring you racing from across the length and breadth of the United Kingdom.

The feature meeting of the day is at Haydock Park where the John Of Gaunt Stakes is the highlight at 3.30.

It's a big day for Liverpool but a well-known Leeds United fan in Ralph Beckett will be hoping for back-to-back wins in the contest courtesy of Kinross. The gelding will be partnered by recent dual Classic winning rider, James Doyle.

Frankie Dettori has a couple of mounts for John Gosden and the pair team up with Sunray Major. This is a drop in class for the five-year-old as he’d been taking on the likes of Baaeed in the Lockinge at Newbury.

William Buick heads to Beverley as the East Yorkshire track hosts two big races for the juveniles.

The Hillary Needler is a Conditions race for fillies and Absolutelyflawless will rate a strong favourite given she won the Lily Agnes at Chester on her previous outing.

Distinguished Lady represents the team of Richard Hannon and though third on debut, she participated in one of the strongest maidens of the season so far.

Chester is sure to be packed to the rafters as they host a self-funded seven race card while National Hunt fans will be delighted to see Cartmel this afternoon.

The Lake District track is well known for being favourable to course specialists and the prize money has attracted some fairly lofty entries.
