Horse racing results LIVE from Carlisle, Fontwell and Wolverhampton, including tips and best bets
There are plenty of betting opportunities, with three eight-race cards for punters to get stuck into. Scottish trainer Stuart Coltherd has a couple of chances at Carlisle, Gary Moore sends Chatteris Fen Hurdle winner Kotmask to Fontwell, seeking a hat-trick, and the trainer also has claims in the conditionals and amateurs handicap hurdle later in the day with Antony. There’s also action on the Tapeta this evening at Wolverhampton, where the David Simcock team appears unlikely to leave empty-handed.
After concerns over the cold weather overnight, Carlisle had called an inspection for 8am on Monday. However, as that frost did not materialise, officials confirmed at around 7am that racing can go ahead. That's great news with eight races on the card. The official going at the Cumbrian venue is soft, with good to soft places on the chase course.
There's much to look forward to this week, with big meetings at both Newbury and Warwick to come on Saturday, but there's also plenty to go at before then. Carlisle stages a competitive jumps card on Monday afternoon, while they also race at Fontwell over the sticks and there's All Weather fayre at Wolverhampton to come this evening.
