Holly Willoughby struggles on This Morning as she issues apology to Shirley Ballas after guest breaks golden rule

Holly Willoughby was left struggling through laughter as This Morning producers were forced to roll back to tapes and issue an apology on behalf of a viewer. The latest player of the ITV daytime show's daily game Spin To Win threw the programme into chaos when he swore while live on the programme.

Holly was back at the helm of the show on Wednesday (October 4) alongside Josie Gibson and it was the former Big Brother winner's turn to spin the wheel and win someone up to £3,000 - if they were called and gave the right passphrase before saying 'hello'.

After winning the top prize of £3k, the caller was then asked which Strictly Come Dancing judge would be appearing on the show later in order to win a bag of This Morning-branded goodies. But as he struggled to remember her name, he said Shirley B*****d. Holly immediately looked horrified and quickly corrected him, saying Shirley Ballas.

In a bit of a panic, she pondered whether he had said what she thought and said they'd have to watch it back to know if the golden rule of swearing on TV pre-watershed as broken. In the meantime, she said: "Sorry if you heard anything different there."
