Holly Willoughby heaps support on Alison Hammond in personal message after 'nervous' This Morning return

Holly Willoughby continued to show her support for Alison Hammond after the cameras stopped rolling following her 'nervous' return to This Morning. The presenter is now back fronting the ITV daytime show following a lengthy summer break.

Holly made her comeback on Monday (September 4) following a two-month absence from the programme as she enjoyed her annual summer holiday which included a family trip to Portugal. But it was somewhat of a 'back to school' moment for the mum-of-three as she returned to This Morning helm with the help of Alison.

Following Phillip Schofield's shock exit from the show back in Mat, Holly is expected to lead the show as usual from Monday and Thursday with a rotating co-host from the 'This Morning family' whilst Alison and Dermot O'Leary are still expected to be back in their usual Friday slot.

During her first show back, Holly was heard making references to Alison's upcoming big night at the National Television Awards on Tuesday (September 5) as not only is This Morning nominated in the daytime category, Alison has also made it to the shortlist for best presenter alongside the likes of Ant and Dec and Bradley Walsh.

While Alison coyly brushed off any mention of her nomination, turning the attention back to the show being up for a gong, Holly continued her support off-air. After appearing back on the small screen, the 42-year-old returned to working on her wellness brand, Wylde Moon.
